Membership Policy

INTRODUCTION

This policy outlines the membership guidelines for Waka2cure and Heroes Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited (WAHCOMS), including eligibility, restrictions on membership in multiple cooperative societies, and the states eligible for membership.

  1. ELIGIBILITY
    • Any person who is 18 years or older and is a resident of the state where Society have license to operate may become a Member of Waka2cure and Heroes Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited (WAHCOMS)
    • Any member who belongs to other society (at least one or two), but the primary objective of which does not coincides with that of this society except with the permission of the Directors.
    • Individuals who are engaged in illegal activities or have been convicted of felonies are not eligible for membership.
    • Members of the immediate family of an eligible individual, including spouses, children, parents, and siblings, are also eligible for membership.
  2. APPLICATION
    • Prospective members must complete a membership application form, which can be obtained from the Society's office or from the Society's website.
    • The completed application form must indicate whether the applicant wishes to become a Member.
    • Applications must be submitted with the appropriate membership fee.
    • The Management Committee shall review all applications and may approve or reject them, providing reasons for any disapproval.
  3. MEMBERSHIP FEE
    • A one-time WAHCOMS and WASIG membership fee must be paid while applying for Membership.
    • To enhance WASIG healthcare services for our members, an annual fee / renewal is required for all members to access the Special Interest Group activities. This contribution can either be incorporated into the cooperative membership fee or collected separately at the beginning of the financial year.
    • Membership fees are non-refundable.
  4. SHARES
    • Members are required to purchase a minimum number of shares, as determined by the Advisory / Management Committee.
    • The purchase of shares represents ownership in the Co-operative and gives members a voice in the management and direction of the Society.
    • The price of shares is determined by the Advisory / Management Committee and may be amended from time to time.
    • Members may purchase additional shares at any time.
  5. DUES
    • Members must pay monthly and annual dues to maintain their membership in good standing.
    • The Advisory / Management Committee will determine the annual dues, which may be revised from time to time.
    • . Membership may be terminated if annual dues are not paid within 60 days of the due date.
  6. TERMINATION
    • Membership may be terminated for non-payment of dues, violation of the Co-operative's bylaws, or other reasons as determined by the Advisory / Management Committee.
    • Members will be notified in writing of any termination of their membership.
    • Terminated members are not entitled to any refund of their membership fees or any unearned portion of their annual dues.
    • Upon termination, members must return their membership card and any other property belonging to the Society.
  7. REINSTATEMENT
    • Terminated members may apply for reinstatement within one year of termination.
    • Reinstatement will be at the discretion of the Advisory / Management Committee and may be subject to the payment of back dues, a reinstatement fee, and other conditions as determined by the Board.
  8. RESPONSIBILITY OF MEMBERS
    • Members are responsible for keeping their contact information up-to-date with the Society.
    • Members must promptly notify the Society of any changes to their contact details, including their address, phone number, and email address.
    • Members are responsible for maintaining their account with the Society in good standing.
    • The membership card should be used only for authorized transactions. Misuse may result in termination of membership.
  9. CHANGES TO POLICY
    • The Advisory / Management Committee may amend this policy from time to time.
    • Members will be notified of any changes to this policy.
    • Members are responsible for keeping themselves informed of changes to this policy.
